Something to consider is the material that the kettle is made from. Copper heats the water faster than any other material. Anodized aluminum is a pretty close second.
Generally speaking, copper lasts longer, as long as the pot is not overheated. But, anodized aluminum and stainless steel are easier to care for.
Glass kettles break more easily, but many people find the look appealing. Just remember never to boil it dry and always follow the manufacturer’s instructions for care and handling. Regardless of the material, filtered or bottled water is recommended, in order to avoid residue building up inside and outside of the pot.
