The corded electric kettle is connected to the wall socket directly through a cord plugged into the back of the device. Upon reaching the boiling point the kettle will automatically move into ‘warm mode’ as well as shut off automatically to prevent overheating.
Depending upon your requirements, there should be an ideal electric kettle out there for you. Unlike the cordless electric kettle your movements are somewhat restricted with a corded kettle but overall, both types are fast operating, simple to use and come in a range of styles and colours.
What are the advantages of an electric kettle over others? With an electric kettle you get a faster boil, they are generally lightweight (often made out of plastic), they carry an automatic shut off feature for your safety and you shouldn’t get burnt when lifting the kettle.
Surely there are not any disadvantages of the electric kettle, I hear you cry. There are one or two minor let downs concerning kettles powered by electricity, including energy wastage and if a kettle is very cheap, malfunctions have been known to occur due to the melting of the plastic.
